Health Benefits

In spite of the fact that meditation is not a treatment technique nor a kind of alternative medicine, meditation has a very positive effect on health. Everything is in fact very simple: to be healthy one has to lead a healthy life. But “healthy life” doesn't mean just proper physical conditions, it actually includes everything that helps us keep our chakras clean. And that is exactly what is achieved by meditation. As soon as the chakras get cleansed, they can provide sufficient energy to the organs they look after. As a result, the organs become healthy and one gets rid of ailments.

Extensive scientific research on the health effects of Sahaja Yoga meditation was done in various countries, like India, Australia, UK, Russia, Romania. There are a lot of positive reports in international scientific journals that prove the health effects of Sahaja Yoga meditation in various areas of health care. The results are too diverse and at the same time specific to be presented on a Web site like this, however you can see some examples on the Scientific Research page. Here we will just mention a few examples that demonstrate the success of Sahaja Yoga meditation in improving the health of people. The success stories include bronchial asthma, epilepsy, high blood pressure, diabetes, menopause, attention deficit and hyperactivity in children. More detailed information can be found in the references below.

In 1993, Shri Mataji founded in Mumbai a Sahaja Yoga International Research and Health Center. People from all over the world come there to get cured with Sahaja Yoga meditation. The center has become so famous that one has to make reservation long in advance in order to get a place there. You can read an article about the Center in the INDIAN EXPRESS newspaper.
